STORY DENIED

MELBOURNE.— The Min-
ister for Information, Mr.
Calwell, yesterday described
as untrue the allegations
that. officers, of the Esperance 
Bay were in danger of being
murdered by the Indonesians
on their way back to Java.

He also denied that the
Indonesians became so tbrea-
tening that the captain call-
ed for an armed escort.

HMAS Arunta was with
the liner from Darwin, in
case any trouble arose at
any of the ports of call, he
said.
